Monika Brandmeier nutzt für ihre Skulpturen bevorzugt industrielle Alltagsmaterialien wie Metallprofile, Glas, Gummi oder einfache Schnüre. Diese Werkstoffe befreit sie von ihrer ursprünglichen Funktion, um ihre rein ästhetische und haptische Qualität im Raum zu betonen. Der Umgang mit der Skulptur ist dabei von einer minimalistischen Strenge geprägt, die jedes Objekt präzise an seinem Platz verankert. Oft entstehen fragile, fast instabile Konstellationen, die eine hohe energetische Spannung zwischen den einzelnen Elementen erzeugen. Anstatt massive Volumina zu schaffen, setzt sie auf lineare Strukturen, die den leeren Raum wie zeichnerische Linien durchmessen. So verwandelt sie das Material in ein Instrument der Raumbefragung, das die Grenze zwischen physischer Schwere und grafischer Leichtigkeit auflöst.
