Marcel Frey explores what transforms the everyday into art. A sheet of paper is folded, spray-painted, and unfolded, until it represents only itself. Frey’s works are self-referential; they do not depict the world, but rather make a process visible. For the exhibition at Galerie Thomas Fischer, he created a series of twelve unique works on paper.

Marcel Frey erforscht, wie sich Alltägliches in Kunst verwandelt. Ein Blatt Papier wird gefaltet, besprüht und wieder auseinandergefaltet, bis es nur noch sich selbst darstellt. Freys Werke sind selbstreferenziell; sie bilden nicht die Welt ab, sondern machen einen Prozess sichtbar. Für die Ausstellung in der Galerie Thomas Fischer schuf er eine Serie von zwölf Unikaten auf Papier.
