Curves, scribbles, and lines serve as a record of shifting perception while listening to the radio – capturing emotions, lapses in attention, and the rhythmic flow of daily news. Guided like a vibrating seismograph along a ruler, a stylus tipped with a ballpoint pen amplifies even the slightest impulse during the process.
Each sheet represents the span of a single month.

Die Kurven, Linien und Kritzeleien bilden ein Protokoll subjektiver Wahrnehmung: Sie dokumentieren den Moment des Radiohörens – zwischen Emotion, Aufmerksamkeit und der Sprachmelodie täglicher Nachrichten. Wie ein vibrierender Seismograf wird ein Gravierstift, kombiniert mit einer Kugelschreiberspitze, an einem Lineal entlanggeführt. Jede noch so feine Regung während des Informationsstroms wird so verstärkt und direkt auf das Papier übertragen.
Dabei steht jedes Blatt stellvertretend für die Dauer eines Monats.
Evgenija Wassilew ist eine zeitgenössische Künstlerin, deren Werk sich an der Schnittstelle von akustischer Wahrnehmung, Zeichnung und Installation bewegt. Sie nutzt Klang, Radiowellen und Alltagsobjekte, um flüchtige Prozesse wie das Hören oder den Lauf der Zeit in visuelle und performative Formen zu übersetzen. Ihre Arbeiten, oft als „Seismogramme“ subjektiver Empfindungen beschrieben, machen das Unsichtbare und Unbegreifliche in präzisen, oft fragilen Strukturen erfahrbar.

The artist lives and works in Berlin and has received numerous international grants and residencies (including at the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen).
Exhibitions: Her works have been presented at renowned institutions such as the Berlinische Galerie, the Museum Ulm, and the Marrakech Biennale.
Collaborations: In addition to her solo practice, she is part of the sound performance duo Narval (with Peter Strickmann), which stages site-specific sound events using everyday objects.
Current Projects: Most recently, she was nominated for the Haus am Kleistpark Art Prize in 2024 and will be showing work at Galerie Vincenz S in 2025.
